Big Dreams Farm
Big Dreams Farm and Ranch is family owned and
operated, specializing in following our dreams. We, Eric and Christie, met 10
years ago and immediately shared the dream of owning land and animals. We moved
to Wisconsin (from Alaska) fall of 2005 and began living our dream of raising a
family on a farm. Currently, our focus is on grass-fed meats, horses, and
preserving home-grown fruits and vegetables.
During summer months, our cattle and sheep graze on native grass while we
supplement hay in winter. Although not certified organic, we utilize
organic-type practices. We vaccinate against worms and common disease and if an
animal becomes ill we treat to eliminate suffering. We do not feed steroids,
hormones, or any other type of growth- enhancing products. We grain our show
animals, but these are not used for meat. Our livestock is considered Heirloom
breeds. These rare breeds exhibit more resilience to disease, climate
conditions, and leave smaller footprints on our environment than their
commercial counter breeds. See tabs at the top of this page if you’d like to
learn more about Scottish Highland cattle and Jacob sheep.
Our true passion of horses develops more everyday. Currently we own five horses
and foster one who is looking for a lifelong home. Christie entered her first
endurance horse race and Eric looks forward to ranch horse versatility events.
Recently we adopted 2 horses & a pony from the Midwest Horse Welfare Foundation
(see our links). We will offer boarding and training after the new barn is
complete. You will find more information under the horse tab.
Big Dreams Farm and Ranch is a dream in progress. Thank you for visiting our
site. Please contact us with questions, comments, or suggestions! Thank you,
Eric & Christie
